Sykes Ranch Park

A guide to Sykes Ranch Park and the local electrician serving the neighborhood around it.

About Sykes Ranch Park

Sykes Ranch Park preserves a 5-acre remnant of the historic 154-acre Sykes family ranch, one of the earliest farmsteads in Murrieta, with interpretive markers telling the story of the land and the family who worked it.

History and Significance: The ranch was established around 1888 by Henry Sykes, and his son Amos later built a house and water tank on the property, raising alfalfa and running the family dairy across three generations. The Sykes family farmed the land until 1965, and the site is now preserved as a city park with nine interpretive historic markers developed with the Murrieta Valley Historical Society, covering the ranch people, buildings, and natural features.
